The course includes open group discussions moderated by experts, provides an overview of state-of-the-art subject knowledge, with much more time spent on practical exercises including dissection of anatomical specimens, dealing with the essentials of surgical approaches and related anatomy. Participants can express their personal preferences of treatment methods for specific problems to be presented and discussed.

At the end of the course, participants should be able to:
• Demonstrate the management of polytrauma patients with pelvic and acetabular injuries
• Describe the surgical anatomy of the pelvis and acetabulum
• Apply surgical approaches to the pelvis and acetabulum
• Perform techniques of internal and external fixation of pelvic and acetabular fractures
• Recognize the ongoing controversies and special situations in the treatment of pelvic and acetabular fractures

This course is aimed at experienced surgeons who are willing to share and express their experiences with other participants and specialists in the field and want to expand their knowledge and skills in the evaluation and treatment of pelvic and acetabular injuries. (Participants should have completed the AO Trauma Courses—Basic Principles and Advanced Principles of Fracture Management and be actively involved in trauma management).

In order to make the course a valuable learning experience, English knowledge is a prerequisite.
